Five Eateries

OOOoooo. Somehow Archie knows that I like food, and has tagged me with the Five Eateries Meme.

Five Places that I like to eat:

Burgerfuel
Bite and ignite! Gourmet burgers of an unsurpassed standard, in all shapes and sizes. Also very partial to their kumara chips. They’re a chain, and have stores throughout the North Island, and have also started up in Sydney.

Hell Pizza
So, so good. Brilliant gourmet pizza chain, with a great menu. Quite irreverent in their marketing. I dare you to resist a pizza called Lust. Also a chain, they’ve been expanding throughout the country.
Mai Thai
Really cool Thai restaurant on the corner of Albert and Victoria Streets in downtown Auckland. I’ve always eaten fantastically there.

Gumdiggers
A great old place in Hinemoa St, Birkenhead with a nod back to our colonial past. One of the main industries when this area was first settled was digging up kauri gum. This came from the roots of Kauri trees felled to allow the settlement of the land in large quantity. The food is an excellent selection of traditional kiwi fare, and my old neighbours waited there so the service is great.

The Blankenberge Belgian Beer Cafe
Located in Hurstmere Rd, Takapuna. Besides my well known liking for Belgian beer, this place does a great selection of traditional pub food. The bangers and mash is great, and I discovered I liked stoemp. Also highly recommend the Pot of Mussels.

I now have to come up with five people who won’t be horrifically offended by being tagged for this.

My good friend Mike of from the horizon has blogged (videoblogged!) about the food in Banda Aceh in the past, but has not mentioned eateries.
Stillettogirl obviously knows her way about the Washington restaurant scene.
Keeping it in the Antipodes, Nurse Myra must know a thing or two about food…
Metro, who can apparently forage for all he needs without leaving his spa, must surely be able to offer us some instruction,
and raincoaster because…well…she hates being tagged, and I like tweaking noses. Oh, and I hear there’s some good maple syrup in Atlantis or something. Or is that Chinatown, Vancouver. I forget.

Seriously, if I didn’t tweak someone’s nose today I might have exploded. YA RLY!

Hey – I feel pretty good now!

Fine, fine. Like I can afford to eat out. Rub it in.

I think this is a challenge, and a call for another video blog (which I’ve been thinking about doing for a while).

    Lights… Cameras… Nasi Goreng!

Yes, they are very confusing. I am a simple creature, and I get overloaded easily.

I need to pay more attention.

    Toodles!

Hey, thanks for the tag. I’ll try to get to it by tomorrow night. I’m busy posting half naked pics of beautiful women so as you see my priorities are…elsewhere lol

    xoxo

This is an acceptable substitute. Please continue.

Sod–that’s the third meme I’ve got to work on …

Is posting pictures of pouting, beautiful muppets an excuse?

  9. 9 Stiletto 8 June, 2007 at 10:33 am

    Beautiful muppets? Oh my!

You know, I sat down to try doing this and it became obvious very quickly that all of my favorite restaurants have closed. I am the kiss of death for an eatery, apparently. Now I’m so depressed I need a drink. Not that I can afford to drink either.
